(Brazil).- Tourism Minister Marcelo Álvaro Antônio said on Wednesday morning that the government should provoke a discussion in Congress about the possibility of allowing casinos to operate integrated into resorts, stating that Brazil "will not be different" from the countries that already adopt that model.
The minister, however, made it clear that this is not a guideline that will be discussed in the short term, arguing that there are other issues of tourism that are more priority, such as the opening of foreign capital for airlines.
"I think a broader issue (with a release of the casinos beyond the casinos) has no environment to be approved in Brazil, but the casinos integrated into resorts are an inevitable discussion, 95% of developed countries already allow it and Brazil will not be different," he said.
